The 23rd ESPEN Congress is taking place in Munich, Germany, from Saturday September 8th to Wednesday September 12th, 2001.

All the Congress activities and the Exhibition are located at the Internaional Congress Centre Munich (ICM), which is a fully equipped and modern venue. It is within easy reach of the city centre by public transportation taking about 30 minutes from most of the hotels.

A free pass on Munich public transportation is included in the Congress registration fee.

Transportation
Each delegate is issued with a transportation pass for the period of the Congress.
This pass is included in the Congress registration fee and valid in the bus and subways. It is delivered on site with the registration documents.

Language
The official language of the Congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided for the Scientific and Educational programmes.

Lunches
Lunches are not included in the registration fee. You can order luncheon vouchers refreshments with the registration form at an extra cost of EURO 15.- per lunch. Sandwich bars and refreshments will be at your disposal within the Exhibition area and you will find a restaurant in the International Congress Centre Munich (ICM).

Industry exhibition
In conjunction with ESPEN, an exhibition of medical equipment, pharmaceutical companies and scientific publishers will be held in the Hall B0, on the ground floor of the
International Congress Centre Munich (ICM). All coffee breaks and lunch area will take place in the exhibition area.

Airfaire discount
The official carrier of the Symposium is Lufthansa.

Smoking Policy
The ESPEN 2001 Congress wishes to be a non-smoking event.
Participants are kindly requested to refrain from smoking in the congress venue, including the exhibition area and the restrooms.

Mobile Phones
Delegates are kindly requested to keep their mobile phones in the off position in the rooms where scientific and educational sessions are being held.

Eurokongress, in charge of hotel accommodation and excursion operates a desk at the registration area during the official opening hours and is ready to help you for any related matter.

Cloakroom/luggage
A cloakroom is at the participants’ disposal close to the exhibition area. Please, make sure that no personal

The ESPEN booth is located near the registration area. ESPEN staff is pleased to meet delegates and welcome new members to the Society.

Bank
There is no bank inside the ICM.

A detachable Certificate of Attendance is included in the
Final Programme.

Accompanying person Programme
Registered accompanying guests are entitled to attend
the Welcome Reception on Saturday 8th September at 18.30.

Messages / Lost & Found
The desk is situated at the registration area.

Cyber Café
A Cyber Café, run by Baxter is situated in the exhibition
area and open to all participants.

Speakers’preview room
The Speakers’ preview room, located in the main foyer
next to the registration desk, will be open at the following hours:

Saturday from14.00 to 18.00
Sunday to Tuesday from 08.00 to 18.00
 Wednesday from 08.00 to 13.00

Presenters are asked to give their slides or to check their Power Point presentations there, at least two hours before the session (or the day before for morning sessions). The slides should be collected from the Speakers’ preview room immediately after the session has ended.

Liability/Insurance
The Organising Committee and the ICM cannot be held
responsible for any personal injury, accident, damage toprivate property or any additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes of air, rail, sea, road or other services due to strikes, illness, weather, war or other causes. All participants must make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance.
