ESPEN Micronutrient Special Interest Group (SIG-MN):

• To coordinate/perform scientific and epidemiological studies in the field of MNs
• To become a reference group for international questions transmitted over the ESPEN central website
• To create a network in the field of MN
• To promote education in the domain of MNs
• To promote collaborative research in the field
• To help adapt national policies regarding MNs
• To stimulate the industry to produce adapted MN products

The group contributes to the ESPEN LLL program

Nutritional and metabolic disorders related to inadequate MN status

• The ESPEN-MN Special Interest Group has a maximum of 12(?) members. 
• The group is multidisciplinary: members are recruited from physicians, pharmacists, biologists, nurses, and dieticians.
• Membership of the group is normally limited to 4 years (?) but can be extended to assure continuity if the member vigorously participates in the SIG’s activities.

• Members of ESPEN.
• Expertise in the field of micronutrients 
• Enthusiasm for and affinity with the work of the group.  
• Members must be approved by their national society for clinical nutrition (or alternative) 
• A list of the members of the SIG-MN will be submitted to ESPEN Executive committee each year
• Members can only be part of one SIG

• The group convenes for at least two meetings every year.
  • The Winter virtual meeting is held during a weekend in January-February
  • The second meeting takes place during the ESPEN meeting in August or September.
  • Additional virtual meetings may be organised when urgent questions arise
• An open meeting is organized during the ESPEN congress to give delegates the opportunity to learn about the activities of the group and recruit new members.
• The information on the website is adjusted at half-year intervals or when appropriate.
